Energy Saving Programs:

The following programs are currently active and available to homeowners in Windsor-Essex and Chatham-Kent. An energy audit completed by a Registered Energy Advisor is required to qualify for both programs listed below. Contact us to get started.

Home Renovation Savings Program:

The Home Renovation Savings (HRS) Program offers rebates of up to $5,000 for Enbridge Gas customers and up to $10,000 for electrically heated homes. A minimum of two eligible upgrade measures must be completed to qualify.
Eligible upgrades include attic, wall, and foundation insulation, windows and doors, air sealing, heat pump water heaters, and more. A pre and post-retrofit energy audit is required, and all upgrades must be completed within 180 days.

CMHC Eco Improvement:

If you recently purchased a home with less than 20% down and your mortgage is insured through CMHC, Sagen, or Canada Guaranty, you may be eligible for a partial refund of up to 25% of your mortgage insurance premiums after completing qualifying energy upgrades.
You must apply within two years of taking ownership. An energy audit and EnerGuide label are required to support your application.

Home Winterproofing Program:

The Home Winterproofing program is open to homeowners, landlords and renters. The home may qualify for a free energy evaluation, free insulation, air sealing, as well as other energy saving measures.

Programs No Longer Accepting Applications:

The following programs have closed to new applicants. We have left this information here as a reference for homeowners who may have participated in these programs and are looking for context. Canada Greener Homes Grant The Canada Greener Homes Grant offered grants of up to $5,600 toward eligible energy efficiency upgrades. This program is now closed to new applications. Canada Greener Homes Loan The Canada Greener Homes Loan offered a zero-interest loan of up to $40,000 repayable over ten years. This program is now closed to new applications.
